Here is an update on a new technology been used to generate electric power from oceanic wave tidal power. The technical theory is similar of the wind turbines, but in this scenario the mechanical body, generator and the blades are underwater. The blades harness the tidal wave energy producing a higher power output than wind approach of the similar layout.

At Northern Ireland a company is pioneering in the implementation of the technology. The SeaGen project, is the world’s first commercial scale tidal energy turbine to be installed. Marine Current Turbine Ltd the company pioneering in this novel approach to produce electric power, is the world leader developing the technology in large-scale.

The technology produces electric power from at the moment considered renewable resource of energy. The first installation, produces 1.2MW (1200 Kilo watts) of clean electric power.

For the moment in my personal opinion I give my props to the innovative minds and investors behind the realization of the first commercial tidal wave electric power generator. What do you readers think of the new approach?
