1 Utility Scale Solar power plant, from the eSolar.com website, a new startup on solar thermal scalable electric power plants
eSolar Inc., was founded in 2007, has already closed $130 million in funding from several investors for scalable solar thermal power plants. The latest investor to join in the venture is Google.org, investing a $10 million in the company. The company expects to build these scalable solar thermal plants with various capacities. The current project that will be running later this year will produce around 33MW of capacity. The plants will be built in the Southwest of the United States.
eSolar Inc, use mass manufactured components, allowing for a rapid construction and uniform modularity and unlimited scalability.
In my opinion, is it admirable the initiative from investor in projects like this, not only Google.org is involve in the eSolar project, there are also investments from many other partners. It is something that most be approach given the need for the world to diversify its energy resources, and what better way to do it than helping the Sun, to help us tackle one the world’s most urgent problems.
